英単語 dwell / 熟語 dwell on

英単語dwellは、「住む」という意味の単語で、liveのformalな表現、という位置づけですが、"dwell on"という熟語になると、意味が変わり、「～をずっと考える」という意味になります。「くよくよ考える」などとして訳されることも多いです。
一所に留まっているイメージがやはりつきまとうという意味では、「住む」という意味と大きくは変わりませんね。
